I had to share this — it’s too handy to ignore.
Have you ever needed to transfer a handwritten signature into an electronic format for a corporate letter or creative project? Wouldn’t it be amazing if that file were a vector shape, making it easy to manipulate and resize? Now you can turn your awesome hand-drawn lettering into a vector format in just minutes!
Recently, I started experimenting with Adobe Capture — a mobile app available through an Adobe Creative Cloud subscription — and it’s quickly become one of my favorite tools in my design toolkit.
All it takes is a quick snap of any handwritten sketch using your smartphone or tablet (a black marker on white paper works best), and voilà — it’s vectorized! If you’ve synced your mobile and desktop apps, the shapes, patterns, colors, and even new brushes you create are instantly available in your Creative Cloud library.
Now designers can sketch the “old school” way — say, doodling on a napkin at a diner when inspiration strikes — then immediately snap a photo and convert it into a vector to send off to a client. You can unleash your creative genius before the eggs and coffee even hit the table!
Just to be clear: I haven’t been paid or incentivized by Adobe in any way. I’m just genuinely excited about this app and felt compelled to share it.
